CAN’s primary goal is to enhance the care and outcomes of neonates in California through education, research, advocacy and quality improvement initiatives on behalf of our members and the wider community of over 700+ neonatology Healthcare Providers across the state.

California Association of Neonatology (CAN) provides comprehensive educational opportunities for neonatologists, NICU hospitalists, neonatal nurse practitioners, neonatal PA’s, neonatal nurses, and other healthcare professionals who care for newborns. Explore upcoming conferences, workshops, and online resources.

Research and Education
The Research and Education Committee is charged with creating and overseeing programs that support education, research in, and the teaching of neonatal-perinatal medicine.

Practice and Standards
The Practice and Standards Committee reviews issues related to the practice of neonatology or standards of neonatal care and makes recommendations to the CAN Board regarding an official stance on these issues.

Membership
The Membership and Nominating Committee is responsible for encouraging all neonatal healthcare providers who actively practice in California to become members of CAN.

Conference Planning
The Conference Planning Committee is responsible for developing and executing CAN’s Annual Conference, “Cool Topics in Neonatology,” held in March of every year.
