For the past 32 years, CAN has held its annual “Cool Topics in Neonatology” Conference in conjunction with the AAP District IX Section on Neonatal-Perinatal Pediatrics. The conference brings nationally and internationally recognized speakers to present on important clinical topics affecting the field of neonatology and allows CAN’s membership the chance to interact and engage with peers across the state and country.

Itinerary

Wednesday, March 18: CPQCC Improvement Palooza 2026 (IP26)

  • CPQCC will be taking NICU teams “back to the basics” with a renewed emphasis on implementation science, bolstered by a foundation of effective communication. While championing health equity and advocacy, IP26 will involve integrating data analysis and deep dives into trends over time.
  • There will be interactive team sessions that foster open communication, collaboration, and shared learning among participants in pursuit of equitable neonatal care.

Wednesday, March 18: Life After Fellowship

  • This comprehensive workshop is tailored specifically for neonatology fellows, offering essential information and guidance to navigate their future careers in neonatology. Participants will explore various practice models, delve into the business of neonatology, and receive advice on job hunting. The workshop also addresses topics such as work/life balance, personal wellness, the challenges faced by women in neonatology, and financial planning. Additionally, fellows will gain insights into global health opportunities and effective conflict-resolution strategies in the workplace.
