Established in 1996, The California Association of Neonatology is the largest state-level organization of academic and private practice neonatology healthcare providers in the country. We focus on neonatal care, advocacy, education and research.




Why Become a Member?
When you join CAN, you join a growing network of other Neonatal healthcare providers who share solutions in neonatal-perinatal medicine like pregnancy and newborn dilemmas. Members have exclusive access to a variety of resources such as archived lectures, educational materials, and more. These resources promote quality care for all Neonatal healthcare providers here in California. Members also get a discount to registration for our annual Cool Topics Conference.
Membership FAQs
How do I chose what type of membership to get?
Full Membership is open to Neonatologists residing in California. As of 2025, we are pleased to offer full membership to NICU hospitalists, NNPs & PAs. The Fellows Membership is open to California Neonatology Fellows.
How do I pay for my membership?
The annual fee for joining is $200 per Neonatologist (10% group discount available. Inquire for details.) and $100 per NICU Hospitalist or Neonatal APP (NNPs, PAs). Dues for neonatal fellows are free.
We offer 3 Payment methods:
- Pay by Credit Card
- For New Members: Select a membership type from the selection above, this will take you to create a new account and go through the payment process. Please include your institution’s name in the comments section.
- For Existing Members: Log in to your member portal to complete your payment.
- Bank Check
- Please email the Treasurer at Treasurer4CANNEO@outlook.com to request the mailing address and instructions.
- Include your name, institution, email, address, and phone number in the envelope or via email to ensure proper processing.
- Pay by Venmo
- Select a membership type from the selection above, this will take you to create a new account.

Where can I find my payment status?
The new membership portal allows you to see your membership profile and payment status. Click here to log in to your membership portal.
If you were a member in 2023, you may already have a profile. If it is your first time logging in, you will need to reset your password by clicking “forgot password”. Check your junk folder if the new password does not appear in your email.
How do I sign up as a large group?
For Large groups
- Please email the Chair of Membership Committee at membership@canneo.org a working document or Excel file with everyone’s names, institutions, addresses, phone numbers, and emails.
- Pay by credit card – Email membership@canneo.org, and an invoice will be sent to you.
